Police Officer and Police Staff

 

As part of the negotiations with the M.P.A. all police clubs were required to review and adjust their membership criteria to bring it into line with overall police family. The main change is that Police Staff are now afforded free membership, as has been enjoyed by Police Officers for many years. This is also extended to Metropolitan Police Authority Staff and members of the MPA. This also applies to retired members of each group.

 

Families of Police Officers and Police Staff

 

Family members of the above including partners can also apply for membership.

 

Miscellaneous Membership

 

One if the misconceptions are that anyone can now join our club. This is not the case. In the past those not included in the above list were able to apply for membership by having Overwhelming Police Connections. This has now been amended to Fit and Proper Persons. This basically means that if there is someone, who a serving/retired police officer, police staff, MPA staff or a member of the MPA, feels would be an asset to the club, they can apply for membership. Each case will be dealt with on its merits and would need to be proposed and seconded by a serving / retired police officer / police staff / MPA staff or member of the MPA.

 

If anyone feels that they wish to nominate such persons or to apply for membership for themselves please contact our reception in order to obtain a membership application form.

Ordinary Member

 

All serving MPS, Police Officers and Police Staff (inc. Specials & PCSO'S) are categorised as Ordinary Members.
Cost - Free of Charge
F.O.M. - Former Ordinary Members
This category relates to retired Met. Police Officers & Police Staff.
Cost - Free of Charge

 

Associate Members

 

The following can apply under an Associate Membership.
Relatives of Ordinary Members and of F.O.M's over the age of 18
Any serving or retired officer from another force (i.e. Essex Police, Hertfordshire etc.)
Partners of serving or retired officers from another force.
Cost - £32 per year

Associate - Partners

 

This category applies to partners of all MPS Police Officers and Police Staff.
Cost - Free of Charge

Honorary

Honorary members include;
The spouse or partner of a deceased Ordinary Member or F.O.M.
Cost - Free of Charge

Miscellaneous

Those with police connections

Fit & proper persons

Cost - £100 per year
