Short history of Chigwell Hall

Chigwell Hall, built by Norman Shaw and completed in 1876, was described as "A large modern mansion of red brick, which stands out pleasantly from amidst the surrounding trees". It is a "Grade II listed building of special architectural or historic interest in the Epping Forest District."

Chigwell Hall is in fact set in its own 42 acres of lush grounds, lawns and woodland in abundance, surrounded by beautiful countryside, and spectacular views over London.

It is easily reached by both public and private transport.   Situated on the High Road, Chigwell, just south of the junction with Roding Lane, and opposite the Kings Head Public House, which is supposedly 'The Maypole' as immortalised in Charles Dickens, 'Barnaby Rudge'.

By public transport, Chigwell is served well by bus and underground train, Chigwell Station being just a short walk away (Central Line - Zone 5).

Chigwell Hall boasts its own banqueting suites, bars and diners, as well as excellent sports facilities, & its very own Mega Marquee!  We are licensed to hold Civil Wedding Ceremonies.

We look forward to welcoming you to Chigwell Hall, and if we can be of any further assistance, then please contact us
